Marking systems in the continuous ink jet (CIJ) category are small character printers with a print height of 0.8mm to 14mm. Thanks to the writing speed of up to 500 meters per minute (@Matrix 5×5), these printers are also suitable for marking on very fast conveyors. Therefore, the production process will not have to be interrupted or stopped in order to properly mark the product with texts, barcodes or other symbols.
The printing process is completely contactless and with the right ink, almost any material surface can be printed and marked quickly and easily. As a result, CIJ printers can be used in almost any industry without any restrictions. For example, in the food industry, curved objects such as bottle necks or beverage cans can be perfectly printed with lot numbers, expiration dates, etc. thanks to non-contact printing. In addition, printers using CIJ technology usually provide a more reliable printing result, can develop a higher marking speed than other devices that use contact during marking. Another advantage of contactless marking is the ability to mark even fragile items such as eggshells.
